Surrender - Thursday, October 28

"Genuine surrender says, 'Father, if this problem, pain, sickness, or circumstance is needed to fulfill your purpose and glory in my life or in another's, please don't take it away.'"

This sentence out of "The Purpose Driven Life" hit my like a ton of bricks today. The chapter is about surrendering yourself to God. I'm learning a lot about just trusting God instead of stressing out about things that I can't change. Even things I can change are starting to fall away. I just let God take care of everything. I'm only a quarter of the way through this book and I have already learned a massive amount of information about how I can really live for God, instead of myself. I am comfortable with letting go of everything for God and it feels really good. I can't believe how unbelievably happy this makes me. I am grateful for what God has done in my life and look forward to enjoying what he has in store next.

"You know you're surrendered to God when you rely on God to work things out instead of trying to manipulate others, force your agenda, and control the situation. You let go and let God work."

I'm a slave to Christ, yet I've never felt so free.
